Surfas Culinary District

Surfas Culinary District, a foodie staple in Culver City since 1937, is a fascinating store packed with an enormous variety of gourmet foods, restaurant supplies, and commercial restaurant equipment.  It's easy to lose track of time while wandering the aisles browsing everything from imported meats and cheeses and a myriad of oils, vinegars, pastas, grains, and spices, to adorably printed cupcake wrappers and cake stands, to 80-quart industrial-sized mixers to 3-doored glass refrigerators.  I usually gravitate towards purchasing eclectic baking decorations (why not stock up on Christmas-colored sprinkles long before the holiday cookie season!), and enjoy a cup of coffee on Sufas Cafe's outdoor patio, watching the endless stream of home cooks and professional chefs march in and out with their respective purchases.
