Teriyaki Burger

Teriyaki Burger

Though there are plenty of excellent choices for burgers in Los Angeles -- from the  fast food variety to sit-down restaurant options -- sometimes I crave nothing more than one made at home.  Glazed with my favorite bottled teriyaki sauce, a grilled slice of fresh pineapple, a large dollop of my quick guacamole -- all on a split, buttered and toasted Korean egg bun (from my local bakery) -- it reminds me of the one my mother used to fix for our family.   Having worked in recipe development for the California Avocado Commission back in the 70's, she had this particular burger creation featured on the front page of the (now defunct) L.A. Times Food Section.
