Jul 30 La Brea Bakery's Breaking Bread Tour

Last night, I had the pleasure of attending La Brea Bakery’s Breaking Bread 2015 Tour Launch Party, in celebration of their food truck’s multi-city summer tour promoting the connection of family, friends, and loved ones over shared meals. This “stop and smell the freshly-baked bread” approach to eating is meant to encourage people to unplug in favor of one-on-one interaction while dining – according to the Breaking Bread study, only 33% of people are able to sit and enjoy a meal with family uninterrupted by technological distractions. So what better way to share, of course, than literally breaking bread with La Brea Bakery’s artisanal, stellar culinary creations, paired with partnering brands the likes of Tillamook Cheese, Stonewall Kitchen’s jams and spreads, and Justin’s nut butters. As Senior VP of Culinary Research and Innovation at La Brea Bakery, John Davis, put it, “We've always known bread is more than just food, it's a part of traditions and connects loved ones and communities, which is exactly what we're doing with the Breaking Bread Tour.” Cross-country stops for the tour include the following dates, and I highly recommend visiting the truck and supporting this movement!
