Corpse Reviver #2 Cocktail
In celebration of the Day of the Dead, I thought a Corpse Reviver #2 cocktail was in order -- both in thematic spirit and "hair of the dog" necessity post-Halloween! This Bon Appétit recipe is a lovely representation of the drink, which was genuinely concocted at the turn of the century as a hangover remedy (or, as Harry Craddock described in his 1930's Savoy Cocktail Book, "To be taken before 11 AM or whenever steam and energy are needed"). I'm usually a little intentionally-heavy handed with my "dash" of absinthe, and I find this gin, citrus, Lillet, licorice, cherry-flavored cocktail to be just the ticket after a night out on the town!
