Welcome to my scrumptious, stylish, spooky, happy place!

Petty Cash

Petty Cash

I'd been anxious to get to Petty Cash Taqueria - another hot-spot collaboration between Chef Walter Manzke and restauranteur Bill Chait - for ages, and I recently popped in over the weekend at a nearly embarrassingly early-bird hour (the lust for tacos knows no boundaries of socially acceptable time constraints!) to find the mural-adorned joint already bustling with happy patrons.  The restaurant bills itself as "a semi-authentic taqueria," fusing local, seasonal ingredients with Manzke's version of classic Mexican street food.  Our personal go-to dishes that are a safe test for any taqueria are the Cochinita Pibil and Al Pastor, both of which were delicious - beautifully marinated meats, plenty of heat, and gorgeous plating.  The Petty Cash Margarita (ordered with "the good sh*t," of course) is delightfully tasty, and I'm definitely going to try my hand at recreating the restaurants Salsa Verde with tomatillo and pineapple!
