Spilled Blood Sangria
Here's to the weekend, and tasty cocktails! I love sangria year round (the warmth of the red wine makes it feel like an "anytime" kind of drink to me!), and I think the use of clementines in this recipe from Better Homes and Gardens special "Halloween tricks & treats" magazine makes it especially tasty. Plus, I love the look of this adorable little baby clementine-o-lantern!
Spilled Blood Sangria
2 cups cranberry juice
1 cup freshly squeezed clementine juice (8 medium clementines)
2 750-mililliter bottles dry red wine
1/2 cup sugar
Orange slices, fresh or frozen
Ice cubes
In a 3-qt glass pitcher, stir together cranberry juice and clementine juice. Add wine and sugar, stirring until sugar dissolves. Cover; chill for at least 3 hours. Stir in fruit before serving. Serve over ice cubes.
