Destroyer

I'm certainly not unique in worshiping the brilliance of Jordan Kahn's profound culinary talents, and when his new breakfast and lunch restaurant Destroyer quietly opened last September, I began plotting my pre-work visit (as its hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 3:30 PM). Today was finally the day that I could savor a near-sacred breakfast meal, and as expected, the food embodied the minimalist, artistic, Scandinavian-inspired plates I'd been dying to sample (so, of course, I ordered the full breakfast menu.). The images of the beautiful plates below speak for themselves -- as it turns out, I could eat avocado confit for every single meal, every day of my life. It was also terribly exciting to walk past the otherworldly, undulating frame of what will soon become Chef Kahn's Vespertine as well. I have a feeling I'll be spending a lot more time in Hayden Tract area of Culver City...
