Fishing with Dynamite
One restaurant I feel is fully worth a trip to the South Bay is Chef David LeFevre’s seafood-centric Fishing with Dynamite (though I’m not going to lie, I wish it was in my Hollywood backyard – I’d dine there regularly!). A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, an extensive world-traveler, and a Michelin star winner, Chef LeFevre’s restaurant reflects his broad culinary career while giving a nod to both summering on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and reveling in the ocean fare of Southern California. The restaurant’s website calls Chef LeFevre’s menu “artisanal, soulful and handcrafted,” which is evident with every bite of beautiful, fresh seafood. From its superlative raw bar, to hamachi with ponzu and serrano peppers, to pale ale-battered ling cod, each and every dish whimsically and deliciously celebrates the nearby bounty of the ocean. With such a delicious menu, I’m always happy to dine with friends to ensure we can sample as many beautiful dishes as we can manage!
