Welcome to my scrumptious, stylish, spooky, happy place!

Pumpkin Bûche de Noël

Pumpkin Bûche de Noël

It should come as no surprise that "The Nightmare Before Christmas" is one of my all-time favorite movies (I know it by heart, and would gladly pack up and move to Halloweentown at a moment's notice!), and it is with deep MonsterStewart pride and respect that I dedicate the month of December to this cherished, spooky Christmas tale.

One of my favorite elaborate francophone holiday sweets is a Bûche de Noël, or Yule Log. I took inspiration from both this recipe for a Pumpkin Cake Roll with Cream Cheese filling and the door to Christmas Town in constructing my most recent rendition of this dessert. I added goat cheese to my filling for some sweetness-cutting "tang," and decorated the tree with chocolate ganache and painted marzipan decorations fit for the Pumpkin King himself.
