Son of a Gun
As Los Angeles feels like it was seemingly swept out to sea today, a fish-oriented meal at Son of a Gun is more than appropriate! Chefs John Shook's and Vinny Dotolo's seafood sister restaurant to their carnivorously focused Animal, Son of a Gun's menu features a perfect array of elegant raw sashimi dishes, sinfully delicious petite sandwiches like their crispy Shrimp Toast and creamy Lobster Roll, and beautifully oceanic larger plates like skate wing, black cod, and hamachi collar. Their Fried Chicken Sandwich with pickle slaw and sriracha aioli is one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever enjoyed, and I could comfortably eat several of the Shrimp Toasts and an order of Hamachi Sashimi with Galbi Vinaigrette, Pink Lady Apple, and Radishes as my entire meal!
