Halloween Sugar Cookie Cut-Outs

Ever since I was a wee little monster, my mother would make seemingly endless amounts of sugar cookie dough that was lovingly dyed black, white, and orange, and we'd host cookie baking gatherings at our house that resulted in mountains of cats, ghosts, and pumpkins. The scent of these cookies baking instantly transports me back to my childhood, and I enjoy the crisp, holiday-shaped treats today as much as I did way back when -- especially when they're fresh out of the oven.
