Milo & Olive
Given that my office is relatively close to Milo & Olive, it has taken heaps of self-control to refrain from bringing home their incredible pizzas for dinner every night. Another beautiful restaurant in Josh Loeb and Zoe Nathan’s culinary fold, this local bakery-meets-pizzeria demonstrates, once again, Chef Nathan’s rustically inspired baking skills. Intentionally focusing on different grains than its nearby sister-restaurant, Huckleberry Café, Milo & Olive’s freshly baked pastries, house-baked breads, locally sourced and seasonally based salads, and richly flavorful pastas make it clear how this once-small restaurant has already doubled in size (the communal table still remains on the restaurant’s original side, with its impeccable view of its open kitchen). I adore the fact that even for breakfast, you can snag one of Nathan’s irresistible pizzas – the Breakfast Pizza with house sausage, potatoes, pickled chile, rosemary cream, and a farm egg makes pizza a socially acceptable dish for any meal of the day!
