Providence
I love that Chef Michael Cimarusti's seafood centric restaurants run the gamut from everyday casual, like Connie & Ted's, to the high end sophistication of Providence. Having been consistently on "top restaurant" and "best seafood" lists for both Los Angeles and the US as a whole for the past decade, I've had the joy in the past of enjoying their elegantly delicious tasting menu that features seasonal, whimsically plated, delicious seafood. But I also adore the restaurant's à la carte lunch menu, which features raw and cold dishes (like "barely cooked" spot prawn); hot dishes (my favorite being the Uni Egg with sea urchin, champagne beurre blanc, and brioche croutons); and main courses from both land (wagyu beef and duck breast) and sea (lobster, rock cod, scallops, salmon, etc!). My pictures below are admittedly from my visit to the restaurant several months ago, so the menu has since changed -- giving me just the right excuse to check out this season's menu sometime soon!
