Guelaguetza
I adore a fabulous mole -- from the classic negro, to rojo, verde, amarillo, estofado -- you name it, I will likely love it. It's for this reason that Guelaguetza, a family-style Oaxacan restaurant in the heart of Koreatown, holds a special place in my heart. An institution that's been in business for well over twenty years, the restaurant boasts both an enormous menu (filled with enormous dishes meant to be shared, like their Botana Oaxaqueña tasting platter, their Festival de Moles sample platter, and their enormous tlayuda pizzalike tortillas) and a packed house, especially on weekends (when a live band adds to the festivity of brunchtime fare). My favorite part is that they even jar their sauces, meaning I can take their gloriously bottled moles with me on the way out!
